ADAGE Innovations
Passive counter-UAS capture systems.
Australian designed. No transmitter, no emissions, no licence.

The problem
Small unmanned aircraft are now a routine threat to airfields, ports, fuel terminals and public venues. Published capture rates for leading kinetic interceptors sit around eighty-five percent. The residual matters: the aircraft that evades the first engagement is the one that reaches the site.

Our approach
ADAGE is developing a family of capture net systems in which the functional elements sit at the perimeter of the net rather than throughout the mesh. The result is a lightweight, passive device that improves the probability of a successful capture on first engagement, and that recovers the target aircraft intact.
Why passive matters
The system carries no transmitter, no power source, no software and no data interface. It emits nothing, requires no spectrum licence, and imposes no regulatory condition on the operator or the site. There is no cyber attack surface. In Australian airspace, where active jamming is unlawful for civil operators, that distinction determines what can actually be deployed.
Intact recovery
The capture surface remains open. The aircraft is retained rather than destroyed, and stays accessible for forensic examination and attribution — relevant where the origin of the aircraft, its payload or its operator is of interest.

Integration
The system is an effector. It is designed to be tasked by an existing command and control layer and to integrate into layered architectures without imposing sensor or network requirements. ADAGE supplies the interface specification; integration is performed by the systems integrator or end user.
Intellectual property
Nine Australian provisional patent applications filed during 2026, covering capture net architecture, peripheral functional elements, deployment systems and manufacturing tooling.
Status
Technology readiness: prototype and bench evaluation. Simulation and characterisation programmes in progress with Australian university and manufacturing partners.
